The committees are part of AmCham´s operations. These are integrated by groups of proffessionals representing different member companies, and who are grouped according to their specialty. These committees function as therefore to strengthen bilateral trade between the United States and Guatemala.
Purpose
Strengthen their specific activities
Support AmCham´s Board of Directors
Propose solutions for different legal issues
Conduct seminars, workshops and training courses on issues related to their area
Promote the resolution of conflicts resulting from laws and regulations.
Operation
Regular meetings are held once or twice a month depending on the Project;
Each committee is chaired by a President who is elected from within its members;
The projects they undertake are approved by the members of the committee and by the Board of Directors;
The discussions at the meetings are recorded in the minutes that are sent to each member of the Committee for his/her review
The members of the committee must work as a team to achieve the common good and not personal interests;
Any employee of the member companies who whishes to participate in a committee should contact the Coordinator of the Committees to obtain more information on the activities involved.
